GOA: The Bangladesh Navy’s newly-inducted stealth corvette, the BNS Sangram, arrived at Mormugao Port Trust (MPT) on a friendly visit. The vessel, which is en route to Lebanon for a peace keeping mission, will take on replenishments before crossing the Arabian Sea. The warship was received by officers from the Goa Naval Area Headquarters and the officiating defence advisor at the Bangladesh High Commission in India.
The guided missile stealth corvette has been built by China and was commissioned in June this year. The vessel has a crew of 15 officers and 95 sailors and is led by Captain Faisal Mohammad Arifur Rahman Bhuiyan. According to officials, the warship will join the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon.
