GOA: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lashed out at opposition parties stating that those like Goa Forward Party (GFP) and Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) take a different stance on the Mhadei issue when they are part of the government. They change their stand opportunistically when out of the government.
BJP’s Narendra Sawaikar said that the argument that Karnataka will be favoured in the Mhadei matter because they have many more MPs in the Parliament also irrelevant. He said the matter is now before the Supreme Court and the question of the number of MPs having more weightage does not arise.
“Today we see that different political parties are constantly making statements in this regard. Whether it is Vijai Sardesai of GFP or Ramkrishna Dhavalikar of MGP. Water resources department was with GFP MLA when they were part of the government,” said BJP Goa president Sadanand Tanavade. “Congress should stop lying to people. They think they can make a lie a fact by repeating it,” he said.
