Goa: Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has stated, in its annual report, that work on its new building has been stuck since April this year due to the pandemic.The existing board building had developed leakages and other defects within a short span of its existence. The new structure has been designed to include many new features which are expected to provide better security and storage for the confidential Class X and XII exam work.“The frame structure of new building of the Board is complete up to first floor.
The new board building is being constructed at Porvorim within the existing compound wall of the Goa Board, in the large vacant space available opposite the present board building.The new structure is being constructed by the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation and the construction work began in February 2019. The Rs 27.3 crore-building will have a separate section for ‘confidential work’ related to the Class X and XII public exams.
