Canal of the Tillari reservoir being damaged

GOA: A landslide in Satoli in Maharashtra led to the right bank canal of the Tillari reservoir being damaged. As the canal carried water to Goa, water supply to parts of North Goa, especially Pernem is set to be affected for the next few days. The heavy rainfall also led to rising water levels in reservoirs across the state.

Though release of water from Tillari reservoir led to waterlogging in some parts of Pernem, Bicholim and Bardez, officials of water resources department (WRD) said this has brought water levels in the reservoirs under control.

Officials said that water level in the Tillari reservoir was below the alert level on Wednesday, after its release. Tillari reservoir in Maharashtra sees the access water being released into Tillari river, which as Chapora river runs through Pernem, Bicholim and Bardez talukas in Goa.
