GOA: Cyber Crime Cell (CCC) of Goa police arrested a person for morphing and uploading obscene photographs of two women on social media platform. The cell received a complaint from the victims stating that fake profiles had been created in their names on social media using morphed and obscene photos.
After registering a first information report (FIR) under Section 67 of the IT Act, the cell initiated investigation. Upon technical analysis, accused Lysander Monteirro, a resident of Taleigao, was identified and arrested by a team led by PSI Devendra Pingle.
This is the fourth such case cracked by the Cyber Crime Cell in the last one month. Superintendent of police (SP) (crime branch) Shobit Saxena said, “Cyber Crime Cell advises everyone not to interact with unknown persons online without verification and keep social media profiles in private mode.”
