GOA: The three-day state lockdown, which begins on Friday, will see most establishments closed except for essential services and commodities. The move comes in light of the spike in Covid-19 cases and related deaths in the state.
A night curfew from 8pm to 6am till August 10 has also been imposed since Wednesday.
Municipal and panchayat markets will remain closed, but standalone shops selling vegetable, fruits, milk and grocery will remain open, North Goa collector R Menaka told.
“Any person contravening this order shall be punishable under Section 188 of the IPC,” they said. Restaurants, tea shops, pan shops, all religious places, public places of worship will remain closed CM said.
