GOA: Chief minister Pramod Sawant said that a tender will be floated within 10 days for the construction of 250 tonne per day (TPD) solid waste treatment plant at Bainguinim. Sawant held a review meeting with the waste management minister Michael Lobo, Panaji MLA Atanasio ‘Babush’ Monserrate and mayor of the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) Uday Madkaikar besides others.
Lobo said the tender document is ready and has been sent to the internal auditor for final approval. He also said that the Rs-200 crore plant will be based on build-own-operate-transfer (BOOT) delivery method. “The entire amount has to be spent by the bidder and they have to treat 250 TPD wet waste at the plant. Bidders also have to bale the dry waste and send it outside the state for disposal till Goa sets up its own waste energy plant,” he said.
