GOA: The Valpoi block of the Congress lashed out at chief minister Pramod Sawant for allegedly being guided by health minister and Valpoi MLA Vishwajit Rane on the issue of the proposed Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) project at Melauli.
“Seems like the chief minister has handed over his home ministry powers to Vishwajit Rane,” president of Valpoi block Congress committee, Dasharath Mandrekar said. He alleged that Rane is using strong-arm tactics and getting the local police to “unnecessarily trouble the villagers”. “If more summons are served to the Melauli villagers, then the Valpoi block Congress committee will march to the Valpoi police station and hold a massive agitation, and if arrested we will not apply for bail,” Mandrekar said.
