GOA: Congress MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco has appealed to all religious heads to avoid opening up religious places for worship in view of the rising number of Covid-19 cases. Lourenco said that with the state’s borders being opened up, the number of cases could rise further and jeopardise lives.
“Let us keep churches and religious places closed. Otherwise, this fight will be lost,” said the Curtorim MLA. Lourenco also said that the state needs a dedicated Covid hospital. “I once again urge the CM to set up a dedicated hospital for Covid with a specialised team. If you want to reduce the mortality then we need to do this, or else, the deaths will spike further,” the MLA said.
