GOA: GFP president Vijai Sardesai wrote to speaker Rajesh Patnekar on Thursday to formally express his dissent against the a one-day monsoon session where five bills, seven ordinances and the state budget will be passed without discussion.
“I find it difficult to comprehend the attitude of the chief minister and the government to bulldoze various important bills without any discussion and without allowing any of the elected representatives to apply his or her mind to the issues concerned,” said Sardesai.
Sardesai had earlier suggested that a virtual assembly for three or four weeks should be held so that MLAs could discuss the budget and other bills before voting on them.
“I have clearly maintained at the business advisory committee meeting that the budget should be amended and revised to be more realistic than the present figures, which have been rendered irrelevant,” said Sardesai.
