GOA: The much-awaited flag festival of Divar island, Bonderam, is moving online this year due to the pandemic. Usually, the island would wear a colourful look in the days leading to Bonderam, with houses decorated with flags and buntings and people prepping for the festival.
“This is the first time I remember that the festival isn’t taking place. Only people who will be a part of performance or have been part of the documentary can participate, rest of them have to watch it online. Usually the entire village, irrespective of religion, would take part in floats and performances, ward wise,” says Freddy Ferrao from Piedade Youth Association that’s hosting the virtual event.
