GOA: Within a day of receiving his transfer orders, former governor Satya Pal Malik left Goa for Meghalaya where he will take charge as governor. State authorities bid him a farewell on Wednesday at the Goa International Airport just before he took off on an Indian Air Force aircraft to Guwahati.
Chief minister Pramod Sawant, with whom Malik appeared to share an uneasy relationship, was present to bid the outgoing governor a farewell. “Extended warm send-off to governor Satya Pal Malik on his departure at Dabolim airport,” Sawant said. “I thank him for all the support and guidance during his tenure in Goa. I congratulate him for his new assignment in Meghalaya and extend my best wishes to him in all his future endeavours.”
