GFP: Do not hike college fees this year

GOA: Goa Forward Party (GFP) demanded that the director of higher education direct all colleges not to hike the fees for those seeking admission in their institutes this year in view of the covid situation and that the fees be allowed to be paid in instalments.

“The increase in fees is to the tune of Rs 30,000 to 40,000. Parents of some students have lost their jobs and livelihoods. Besides, as students will hardly be using the facilities, the colleges should either provide for refund for charges like gymkhana fees, student aid, library fees, etc, or charge those fees only when colleges reopen,” GFP spokesperson Prashant Naik said.
