Goa: Covid-19 continues to wreck havoc across the country, including Goa, with the second wave setting the aviation sector a year back to when Unlock 1.0 was announced. Goa International airport has noticed a near 90% drop in passenger footfalls since April 1.Speaking to News24 Goa , Goa Airport director Gagan Malik said recovery in the aviation sector depends on the course taken by the pandemic.
On Sunday we had just 19 flights , 800 passengers arrived and 1,500 left. So if you look at it, just 40-50 passengers have come per flight,” said Malik. The aviation sector has gone back to the levels of last May when the domestic sector was opened up as part of unlock 1.0. This is a loss for airlines.
