GOA: Union tourism and culture minister Prahlad Singh Patel will be chief guest as Goa enters its 60th year of liberation on December 19, chief minister Pramod Sawant said. Sawant said he has also discussed with Patel expediting the work on the two central government funded tourism projects in Goa at Bondla and Old Goa.
“We have invited him as chief guest as we celebrate 60th year of Goa’s liberation. He has accepted our invitation. He will be present for the entire programme to celebrate the occasion with us,” said Sawant.
Sawant said that during his Delhi visit, he discussed mainly hinterland tourism development in Goa with Patel. “I discussed with Prahlad Singh Patel about tourism, especially hinterland tourism. There are two projects pending with government of India, which are Bicholim-Sakhali-Bondla circuit and Old Goa circuit. Both projects will be approved at the earliest and work will begin soon,” Sawant.
