Goa recorded its 4th Covid death

Goa reported its fourth Covid-19 casualty with the death of  Covid-19 casualty with the death of a 66-year-old man from  Taleigao on Tuesday night. The man with an underlying health condition was under treatment at the Covid hospital for over 10 days. Goa’s active cases of Covid-19 reduced to 713 even as 72 new cases were detected. The increase in cases was offset as 74 patients were cured and discharged.

Chief minister Pramod Sawant did not rule out the possibility but said the ward is sanitised whenever any case is positive. Health minister Vishwajit Rane said Goa’s mortality rate is low. “The recovery rate is also pretty good as compared to other states,” he said.

Four persons have tested positive in Sal in Bicholim. Dr  Medha Salkar, health officer at community health centre, Bicholim said, RTO staff have been tested and appealed them  to stay at home till tests results are received.

Primary health centre in Balli collected swab samples of 134 persons and test results are awaited. Quepem mamlatdar Lakxmikant Dessai along with his team inspected Bomdamoll and Abeamoll wards. “All 19 cases reported from Bomdamoll are connected to a wedding reception held at Ambelim,” said Dr Mamta Kakodar, health officer of Balli primary healt ..
