Goa resulted Late flowering of the mango crop

Goa : Extended rains in Goa have resulted in the late flowering  of the mango crop , however, the unseasonal rain which has lashed the state since last week has had a further impact on the crop.

So far, only 10% of the mango trees have flowered in the state, experts from ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute (CCARI) Ela, Old Goa said.Last year, due to extended rain, there was only a 40-50% impact, but this year there is 90% failure,” principal scientist, fruit science and section in-charge of horticultural science at ICAR-CCARI, A R Desai said.
