GOA: Most parts of state witnessed heavy rainfall and the control room of fire and emergency services received 15 calls of tree falls from across the state from 7am to 7pm. However, the state average was normal as parts of state received moderate rainfall.
The IMD has issued a warning for the South Maharashtra-Goa coast up to 75km from the coast. They have warned of squally weather with wind speed reaching 40-50kmph likely to prevail on July 16. Fishermen are advised not to venture along and off the coast during the above period.
The heavy rains that have been lashing the state this season have led to a steady rise in the seasonal total rainfall. Rain gauge stations have recorded that the seasonal total rainfall at the Pernem, Sakhali and Old Goa have already crossed the 2,000mm mark.
