GOA: Goa’s tally of Covid-19 deaths shot up to 420 on Tuesday with 12 casualties. One patient was brought dead to the hospital and one died at home immediately after his discharge. “The patient had taken discharge against medical advice,” dean of Goa Medical College (GMC), Dr S M Bandekar said, referring to the patient who died at home after his discharge.
Bandekar said that all beds in the GMC opened for Covid-19 patients have been filled and as a result some patients have been placed on stretchers. “About 20 to 25 covid cases need admission every day, most come in critical condition. We will start shifting some patients to the South Goa district hospital in a day or two,” Bandekar said.
On Tuesday, a total of 600 patients were under treatment at government-run Covid hospitals with the maximum in GMC, ESI-Covid hospital and South Goa district hospital. About 40 patients are in the sub district hospital and a few in the North Goa district hospital, Mapusa, he said.
