GOA: The state government on Wednesday directed all government and semi-government employees who have had their or their family members’ swab samples taken for testing, to refrain from attending office till the test report is declared.
The office memorandum, issued by the general administration department, also directed employees to immediately intimate their immediate superior about the situation, who will then permit the employee to work from home until the test report is declared.
“Employees working from home in pursuance to the above shall be available on telephone and electronic means of communication at all times,” stated the memorandum issued by under secretary (general administration) Shripad Arlekar.
Several government departments have been left in the dark over the status of their employees who have not shown up to work, and belatedly found out that they tested positive. It was discovered that employees not only hid the fact that their family members tested positive, but also that they themselves tested positive. Thus, many employees had to get themselves tested.
