GOA: Goa state information commission (GSIC) has directed the special secretary of vigilance to conduct an inquiry into a missing file at the vigilance department and fix responsibility for the same. The commission has ordered that the inquiry be completed within six months and a copy be given to the complainant.
In this case, a person had filed a complaint with the anti-corruption branch in February 2014 for registering an FIR against an officiating college principal. In 2018, he sought information under the right to information act regarding his complaint. The information was rejected on the grounds that the matter is under examination/inquiry and that it would impede the process of investigation.
