Health minister has appealed to donate plasma

GOA: The state is facing a shortage of plasma and health minister Vishwajit Rane has once again appealed to those who have recovered from Covid-19 to come forward and donate plasma and save more lives. The combination of plasma and Remedesvir has proved effective in treating critically ill Covid patients.

Pointing out to the numerous appeals and messages on social media asking for plasma donations, Rane said this highlights the ongoing desperation. Plasma therapy was introduced in the state last month and an apheresis machine was installed at Goa Medical College (GMC) and hospital, Bambolim, for the purpose. Since then, over 60 people have donated plasma.
