GOA: State health secretary Nila Mohanan has been transferred to New Delhi following her selection for appointment as deputy secretary in the department of personnel and training under the central staffing scheme for a period of four years.
The order issued by the department of personnel and training stated that Mohanan may be relieved of her duties immediately to facilitate her to take up her new assignment. Mohanan, a 2007 IAS officer, was posted in Goa in July 2014. During her tenure in the state, she has been posted as secretary of education, industries and health. She served as North Goa collector during the initial period of her posting.
She was appointed health secretary in September 2019 and has been the frontal officer in Covid management in the state. She was instrumental in fast-tracking the setting-up of infrastructure for Covid management. Health minister Vishwajit Rane has applauded Mohanan’s work in Covid management more than once from public platforms.
