There will be an increase in rainfall activity from July 2 to 4 wherein very heavy rainfall exceeding 12cm in 24 hours is likely during this time. The rain is expected to be accompanied with winds of speed 30-40kmph. The India meteorological department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for these days.
A fishermen and port warning has also been issued for the Maharashtra-Goa coast up to 75km from the coast. Squally weather with winds of speed reaching up to 40-50 kmph is likely to prevail over Maharashtra-Goa coast on June 2, 4 and 5. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea along and off the coast during this period.
The rainfall activity is however expected to slightly ease after that. In continuation of warning bulletins, the IMD has issued a forecast for heavy rainfall at a few places on July 5.
