GOA: A judicial magistrate first class (JMFC) posted in Margao tested positive for Covid-19. A bailiff functioning at the same court also tested positive. During the morning session, only advocates who had cases scheduled were allowed inside the premises. In the evening session, entry was largely restricted.
During the last couple of months litigants have been barred entry in the premises, but are allowed to submit applications through the windows or receive documents. Sources said a safety system is being practiced by the court staff wherein upon receiving any application it is kept in a box and taken up for processing only after three days. On August 14, after two staff members tested positive, the court was sealed for three days and sanitised.
