Goa : The state cabinet has approved a self-financing management education programme scheme for group ‘A’ officers of Goa with an aim to improve the management skills of senior officials.The cabinet has also approved the appointment of Raghuvir Keni as chief electrical engineer on contract basis initially for a period of one year as an interim measure, or till the post is filled on regular basis, whichever is earlier.
The cabinet note stated that officers at various levels in group ‘A’ require to learn modern management techniques to improve service delivery and achieve a level of competency on par with modern day industries. Hence, the scheme has been framed to allow group ‘A’ officers to pursue executive MBA programme at the Goa Institute of Management, Sakhali on self-financing basis.The law department has made certain suggestions in the scheme which have been incorporated. Further, the scheme being non-statutory in nature, the law department has stated that it does not require formal vetting by them.
