Goa: Sacred soil derived from the precincts of seven well-known temples across Goa will be used for the foundation of Ram temple at Ayodhya on August 5. The decision to collect the sacred soil from Goa was taken by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). The initiative began on Thursday with chief minister Pramod Sawant along with VHP representatives collecting the sacred soil at Rudreshwar temple in Harvalem.
‘Not selected temples yet, but collected soil’ V HP Goa president Santosh Naik said the other temples from where the soil would be collected include Lairai temple at Shirgao, Mangesh at Mangueshi, Mahalsa at Mardol, Mahalaxmi at Panaji, Mallikarjun at Canacona and Shantadurga at Kavlem.
