GOA: With the incessant, heavy showers in the Anmod Ghat area has resulted in the Opa water works experiencing increased turbidity. The plant recorded a turbidity of 90 NTU against the normally less than 50 NTU.
This is second incident since the onset of monsoon in Goa. Earlier the plant had recorded a turbidity level of 146 NTU on June 16. Water division officials said though there was a rise in turbidity, the water is safe for consumption. “Water is released to consumers only after proper filtration at the Opa Water Treatment Plant,” officials said.
