GOA: Heavy rain will continue in the state even as the orange alert for Goa ended on Thursday. The India meteorological department (IMD) in its forecast stated that heavy rainfall is very likely at a few places on August 7 with very heavy rainfall likely at isolated places. Winds of speed 35-45 km/hr are also very likely to accompany the rain, but the intensity of rainfall is expected to gradually reduce.

“We are awaiting reports from across the state to assess the impact of the showers on the crops,” deputy director of agriculture Chintamani Perni said. Preliminary reports will be prepared by Friday, he said.
