GOA: In a bid to contain the spread of Covid-19, the Quepem Municipal Council (QMC) has decided to restrict the fish, meat and vegetable businesses in its jurisdiction to specific days.
As per the council’s decision, fish and chicken vendors will be allowed to conduct their business every Monday, Tuesday and Friday, whereas Wednesday, Thursday and Friday have been allotted to vegetable vendors. This arrangement will continue till further orders.
Chairperson Dayesh Naik told that the market in Quepem town draws several residents from Paroda, Tilamoll, Ambaulim, Cavrem–Pirla and Rivona.“By working out this system, we will be able to minimise public movement,” he said.
