GOA:Concerned over the rapid rise of covid cases and deaths in Goa and the state government’s inability to control its spread, governor Satya Pal Malik has summoned chief minister Pramod Sawant, health minister Vishwajit Rane and other officials on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the tiniest state saw the biggest single-day spike in cases as 170 new cases were reported, while one person died. “Even patients in their 30s and 40s are succumbing to the virus and the governor is really worried about it,” the source said.
“He is also keen to discuss plasma therapy, which the government is set to commence this week,” the official said.
This is not the first time Malik has been proactive on issues concerning the state. In the past, he had taken up the Mhadei water dispute and resumption of mining with the Centre.
