GOA: The recent flip-flops over Covid treatment rates and the Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana (DDSSY) scheme has once again brought to fore the rift between chief minister Pramod Sawanth and health minister Vishwajit Rane, Congress said on Monday. State Congress president Girish Chodankar demanded that the government must increase the insurance cover for Covid under the state’s health insurance scheme.
He said the government should immediately announce a fresh package to cover Covid treatment at private hospitals. “The sudden cancellation of the DDSSY covid cover exposes the fact that all is not well between Sawant and Rane,” said Chodankar. “It is our charge that only because of the differences between the chief minister and the health minister over commission sharing from private hospitals did the government cancel the notification,” he said.
