Sanvordem and Chinchinim reported their first Covid

GOA: Sanvordem and Chinchinim reported their first Covid fatalities. A 60-year-old male from savordem died at Goa Medical College on Tuesday and a 71-year-old male from Chinchinim died at ESI covid hospital, Margao. These were among eight new Covid deaths reported taking the death toll to 165.

Besides a 64-year-old female from Peddem, Mapusa, who was brought dead to the North Goa district hospital, the rest of the deaths were all male. Fatorda alone saw Covid claim three, a 52, 72 and 62-year-old. One of the patients was suffering from cancer and was brought in with bilateral Covid pneumonia and died while being transferred from the South Goa district hospital to GMC. A 43-year-old from Arlem and a 63-year-old from Belabai-Vasco admitted at the ESI Covid hospital also died. A total of 497 fresh cases were reported on Wednesday with a rise seen in Bicholim, Sakhali, Pernem, Valpoi, Curchorem, Shiroda and Ponda.
