SGPDA market shuts for a week

GOA: Five days after it had reopened, the South Goa Planning and Development Authority’s (SGPDA) wholesale fish merket will remain closed for one-week from Thursday.

The South Goa district collector Ajit Roy met representatives of the SGPDA, wholesale fish traders association, Margao Municipal Council and Fatorda police on Wednesday where the fish traders association made known their decision of shutting the fish trade.

The district collector directed the association to work out an action plan along with the SGPDA and other stakeholders within the next few days and submit the plan to him.
