Vishwajit Rane: Need to make Goa industry-friendly

Admitting that there is a wide difference in promises made on paper and how investors are treated, industries minister Vishwajit Rane said that the government is working on a strategy to make Goa industry-friendly by introducing amendments to certain laws and devising sector specific policies.

Rane said the state government wants to help the micro, small & medium enterprises (MSME) sector and the start-up ecosystem to grow in Goa for which an entrepreneurship policy is also in the works.

“We are trying to come up with an entrepreneurship policy so that we can benefit start-ups in a true sense. We are trying to pool in the revenue land because we have a lot of land under revenue and we can create a land bank so that we can attract industries. It is very important to have sector-specific policies,” said Rane.

“This is how a state needs to progress; a red carpet treatment for people who come to invest in the state of Goa,” said Rane.
