Wheel Chairs For Strays

When Janie came across an injured dog dragging herself across the road, over a decade ago she decided to take the animal under her care. Her subsequent journey to help the dog attain mobility again led her to establish a foundation Animal Rescue Centre in Canacona, that is today a place of succour and hope for many paralysed animals.“I adopted her and called her Lucy, and since then we have been trying to look for equipment to make her comfortable.

“I took Lucy to the beach and she could traverse the sandy terrain easily. These wheelchairs are adjustable to the height and weight of the pet. Though they will find it a bit difficult initially, they learn to adapt,” informs Janie. Wheelchairs are considered the final option if all other treatments fail to give results. “Dr Shailender Tiwari and our team of physiotherapists try their best to see if the paralysed animal can walk again.”
